Searching for E.T. at the SETI Institute’s Allen Telescope Array

The Allen Telescope Array (ATA) is the first radio telescope designed from the ground up for SETI searches. It consists of 42 dishes that can be used independently or together to search for radio signals from intelligence beyond Earth. The ATA is located at the Hat Creek Observatory, situated in the Cascade Mountains about 300 miles north of San Francisco, and houses an on-site team of three.
